There are few things in life more satisfying than peeling back a blackhead-removing strip to see in gory detail exactly what was clogging your pores, yet traditional strips can sometimes be too harsh for sensitive skin types. When your go-to scrub won't cut it and you know in the back of your mind that squeezing at your pores is a terrible (yet completely tempting) idea, you'll want to seek out The Porefessional Instant Wipeout Masks by Benefit ($32 for 8; sephora.com). Though they look like traditional blackhead strips, the masks actually span a wider distance than the OG versions, so they aren't restricted to your nose area and can work the same magic when repositioned over areas of your forehead and chin.

Instead of wetting your nose prior to applying the mask, simply cleanse your face as usual, and when you're ready to put it on, press down on the blue plastic bubble outside of the pack to completely soak the strip in the pore-clarifying formula. Let the mask do its thing for 10 minutes, then use the other side to wipe away any of the excess formula. There won't be any porcupine-like blackheads stuck to the strip, but you'll find that the potent mix of glycerin, mushroom extract, and menthol has completely dissolved everything blocking your pores, which will probably look so tiny, you'll barely see them. Since all the ripping and tugging motions are left to a minimum, the strips are safe to use twice a week, though we're not exactly eager to deplete our stash so quickly—seriously, they're that good.
